Current Regulatory Status / Level of Recognition:
An officially approved mental health policy exists (year of policy: 2017). Moreover, mental health is specifically mentioned in the general health policy. The existence of a dedicated authority or independent body to assess compliance of mental health legislation with international human rights doesn’t exist.
Officially approved manuals on the management and treatment of mental disorders are not available in the majority of primary health care clinics.
